Dr Catherine Duthie
Cath Duthie is the Manager of the Pest Management Programmes Group for Biosecurity New Zealand which is part of the Ministry for Primary Industries.
Her group is responsible for the operational delivery of pest management activities and those response activities that are long-term in nature. This includes large scale, national pest management programmes such as the national Wilding Conifer and Wallaby Eradication programmes and the development of pest management programmes for several large on-going biosecurity responses, most notably the responses to Exotic Caulerpa and the Freshwater Gold Clam. Cath was previously the Group manager for Readiness and Response for Biosecurity New Zealand and had national leadership roles in several large responses including Mycoplasma bovis and Myrtle rust and developed programmes of readiness for the Brown Marmorated Stink bug and Foot and Mouth Disease. She has a PhD in insect ecology from Victoria university of Wellington.
