Paul Andrews


Paul Andrews is the manager of Parks, Sport & Recreation at Wellington City Council.

The Business Unit is a large multi-disciplinary team of over 650 employees involved in planning/policy, capital projects and delivering operational services and programmes for the Wellington community.

The Parks, Sport & Recreation Business Unit manage over 4500 hectares of open space and recreation facilities, with assets valued at over $100m. As part of the asset portfolio, the team have responsibility for the following marine and costal structures: the Wellington waterfront, beaches, wharves and boat ramps, Clyde Quay heritage boat harbour and Evans Bay Marina. As a parks and recreation professional Paul is passionate about our city, the importance of our natural environment and recreational opportunities for the health and wellbeing of our community.

Paul has  a strong affinity to our natural environment as a recreational diver, fisher, and hunter. Having grown up around boats, marinas and boat yards his family summers are spent on the water in Northland and the Coromandel.
