Philip Wardale


Phil Wardale currently serves as Secretary of NZMOA and is the Managing Director of WARDALE Consulting. He is also host and Master of Ceremonies of the New Zealand Marinas and Boatyard Conference.

He holds the role of Project Director for two regional maritime infrastructure projects in New Zealand: Te Pūwaha (the Whanganui Port Revitalisation Project) and Te Rāhui Herenga Waka – Whakatane (the construction of a Boat Harbour in Whakatane). Phil also serves as a company director for Bay of Islands Marina Ltd and Nelson Marina Management Ltd.

WARDALE Consulting specializes in maritime advisory and project management services, primarily for local government agencies in New Zealand. Phil Wardale brings extensive experience as a Project Manager, with expertise in Project Directorship, Project Delivery, Planning and Master Planning, Marina Operations Management, Project Evaluation and Management, Peer Review, and Precinct development and maintenance facility experience.

Previously, Phil held significant roles including but not limited to: Special Projects Manager with Panuku Development Auckland, Treasurer at NZMarine, Chair of NZMOA, Project Manager for Waiheke Marinas Limited, roles with Waterfront Auckland/Auckland Council Properties Ltd. He was manager of Bayswater Marina for 15 years.

Phil has contributed leadership to numerous projects including the Tauranga Marina Precinct (VesselWorks), Whakatane Wharf Remediation, Hobson Wharf Remediation (Design and Repair), Pile Berth Redevelopment, and Y Pier Development (Westhaven).
