In 2023, the Incorporated Societies Act 2022 came into effect, replacing the previous legislation that governed incorporated societies in New Zealand. If your marina, yacht or boating club is an incorporated society, are you ready for the new act?
The new Act introduces several significant changes, meaning that most societies registered under the previous legislation will no longer be compliant. Additionally, the new Act requires that all incorporated societies re-register by 5 April 2026, or they will cease to exist.
