Gold sponsor profile: Bellingham Marine

Fact: Bellingham Marine floats are made entirely from non-corrosive products that are gentler on the environment than those using traditional steel bar.

Apart from a few bolt inserts on selected floats which are fabricated in 316 grade stainless steel our floats won’t contain any ferrous metals which over time can degrade and significantly shorten the life of a marine structure.

Bellingham Marine has been constantly working towards the goal of having a float without corrosive materials starting with the use of glass fibre in their concrete through replacing the galvanised steel pins with nylon pins and bar holders before moving on to Fibre Reinforced Plastic(FRP) reinforcing bar when the technology became available.

This gives our customers the peace of mind knowing that any discrepancies in concrete cover, cut bars with exposed ends or just general damage to the protective coatings on bars often detrimental to the longevity of their floats will not be an issue with a Bellingham Marine float.

This requires that all FRP bar must be manufactured to the exact shape required and can’t be reworked or bent after supply. This ensures that the Bellingham Marine Production Team must be meticulous in their planning to be able to maintain the high standards we set and maintain in adhering to our AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008 quality assurance programme.

Bellingham Marine is determined to take the longevity of its floating systems one step further with a low maintenance product with a long service life that produces the ultimate marina for Operators, Investors and long term property holders.

“Long-lasting, low-maintenance floating structures are the cornerstone of sustainable waterfront development.”
