Andy is a panelist in the “Lessons and Learning: Building marinas in a complex learning environment’ session.
Andy is property developer, living and working in Auckland. He is the CEO of the Hopper Developments, which also oversees the groups’ Retirement villages under the Hopper Living brand. After starting with Hoppers in 2006, Andy continued to study to become a Chartered Accountant, which he achieved during a period working overseas for Property firms in Sydney and London. Growing up in Pauanui (Hoppers best-known coastal resort development), property development was always in the blood. In 2014 Andy returned to Hoppers to help build the family business, and with his help several new businesses have been launched over the last decade (Anchorage Village, Country Club Huapai, Moorings Village Whitianga, Hobbs Bay Estate).
Recently, Andy and the Hoppers team have made two Marina applications for consideration under the fast-track legislation. These initiatives leverage their experience of building and operating Marinas and Residential Canal Systems throughout the North Island of New Zealand (Pauanui Waterways, Whitianga Waterways, Marsden Cove, Marsden Cove Marina). Hoppers claim to have the planning and funding skills, as well as the construction know how and Construction team at Hopper Construction to build such facilities.
