Kitt Littlejohn
Lawyer, Waiheke Marina Director
Kitt is a panelist in the “Lessons and Learning: Building marinas in a complex learning environment’ session.
Kitt is a New Zealand qualified lawyer with 30 years’ post-admission experience.
He successfully represented the contested 180 berth marina development at Waiheke Island, Auckland including overseeing the acquisiton of all statutory approvals and business structuring. He then managed the sell down of berth licences, construction and hand- over. He remains as a shareholder and director of this marina business.
His specialty area of practice is resource management, property, building and public law. He has considerable experience with consenting land and coastal development projects in New Zealand, and litigation strategy and risk.
After practicing as a barrister sole for much of my career and completing a significant project while doing so, in 2024 he became a part time legal consultant, to enable him to pursue other business interests, including maritime and property development.
Building on his extensive experience with marinas and their development, Kitt has recently established Marina Development Partners (www.marinapartners.co.nz) as a boutique consultancy focussing on sustainable marina development. MDP is presently investigating several new marina projects.
